Board Member – Bec Williams
A Eugene native, Bec founded Playground Sports (adult sports leagues and recreation company) in 2009. She brings her company motto "have a ball" to all aspects of her life and plans to bring that energy to promote pickleball as a member of the Board of Emerald Valley Pickleball Club. Prior to founding her company Bec was the Assistant Director of Regional Sports Center (now Willamalane's Bob Keefer Center) and was a Women's NCAA Basketball Referee. She has operated, refereed, and played in international tournaments. A lifelong athlete, Bec played basketball in high school, participated, and worked for campus recreation in college, and earned an undergraduate degree in Health Education. After working as a certified personal trainer, she went back to earn a graduate degree in Student Leadership working with college athletes. Social and competitive recreation have been Bec's personal and professional life's work, and she hopes to apply her interests, skills, expertise to the Emerald Valley Pickleball Board to advance the state of pickleball play in and around the Willamette Valley.
